The "Distributors" part in the name refers to our many years of distributing nearly every automobile coming from England during the 1950’s through 1970’s to dealerships all over the Western U.S. There was also a long stint with Porsche, Volkswagen, and Maserati. This was after much humbler beginnings as a single retailer for MG and Jaguar. We've passed the 1 million vehicle mark and still counting. The customer care practiced by our founder, Kjell Qvale, led many vehicle manufacturers to seek his representation as their distributor in this growing country.
Today, we are focused on Bentley, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lotus, and Qvale. Many of our staff have been a part of our team for over 15 years. You’ll find people ready and able to assist you with respect for your business today and an eye towards the future.

Troy Davis has been in the automotive industry for 17 plus years. He successfully managed one of the largest retailers and now brings his experience, education, energy, enthusiasm, and passion to our service department at British Motor Car Distributors. With his motivation and drive to always do his very best---we are proud to have him lead our team. As a leader, he will listen, and work with our service staff to ensure the best Customer and vehicle service.

Our parts and accessories director, John Wolbertus, is a certifiable car nut. His humble collection is always changing to keep up with his diverse appreciation for a variety of makes and models. Currently it includes: 1949 Chevy Stepside; 2001 Qvale Mangusta. And motorcycles too! FLH Harley Davidson, Lightning Buell, V11 Sport Moto Guzzi. John also serves as our Vice President, Parts and Service Division, for Qvale and was our Directori Generale for Mangusta production in Italy: Quite an accomplishment from his first parts job 37 years ago. No wonder John’s knowledge is so expansive. Looking for the right part or special gift? He and his staff can find it.

You really can buy with confidence via the internet. Our customers are proof. Remember, we’re continuing and protecting a 50+ year history of looking past the initial sale. We take great care to select quality pre-owned vehicles to offer for sale and use that same criteria in finding the car you seek. We’ll accurately describe the vehicle to you and make the process simple. A third party inspection is always welcomed and we can assist with arrangements. San Francisco is a beautiful city, with a surrounding area full of adventure and discovery: A great place to start a journey in your new car. However, should you prefer, we can arrange covered transportation to your home or office, which includes a member of our staff for orientation.
Brochures
The digital age has cleared the clutter of brochure boxes from our storage closet. The manufacturers still send us a few, and we are happy to provide you with one upon request at delivery or during a visit to our showroom. We no longer mail out brochures – the web sites have far more information and photos and we can’t keep up with the demand from pre-driving age enthusiasts.
